I developed my mohair products to use on my own reborn dolls. After struggling with ‘terminal matting’ and ‘no hope’ frizz, using normal baby products, designed for baby hair, I decided to do some experimenting. Normal baby and toddler hair products are designed for human hair, which is much different in texture and behaviour to mohair, I wanted to find something that would ‘tame’ mohair, which is, after all, animal hair!
After a few false starts, I discovered the perfect detangling spray, that not only smoothes out frizz and matting, but also gives a lovely healthy sheen to the mohair. I went on to discover my styling gel, and was amazed at how long my reborn’s hair stayed perfectly styled even after a few clothing changes! Then came the wet look gel, and I’ve just added a delightfully mild shampoo and conditioner to the range. The shampoo dissolves build up of all the other products, which does occur after a time of constant use, (as with the normal hair products we all use on ourselves.) the conditioner restores the natural oils to the mohair and leaves it feeling soft and silky smooth.
I added some divine baby powder fragrance to these mohair care products, to give the whole set that wonderful scent of ‘just bathed baby!’ this smells just like the famous brand of baby powder we all know and love!
